The Making of God Made the Moon and Other Stuff, Too!

Almost two decades ago, when I was serving in children’s ministries in South Carolina, we were teaching our preschoolers a lesson on creation.  The curriculum did not contain any songs that explained what God created on each of the seven days… so I wrote one.  When I finished the song, I taught it to the children, and it was a hit!  I thought about publishing it back then, but never pursued it.

Fast forward to 2020.  I went back to school, where I learned about traditional publishing and self-publishing.  Then a spur-of-the-moment decision to attend a professional women’s networking group led me to Jennifer Bright of Bright Communications LLC.  Jennifer’s publishing company is somewhere in between self-publishing and traditional publishing, and what attracted me to her company was that I could retain the rights to my works, which was very important to me.

My dear friend Shauna wrote the accompaniment to this song.  In the recorded song, my niece Charlotte, nephew Noah, their friends Jayden and Lily, and I are singing, and Jason Reif of Freestone Productions produced the song.

This book has been in the making in my mind for a very long time, and I am very proud to present to you, God Made the Moon and Other Stuff, Too!

How Parents & Teachers Can Use This Book

Parents and teachers can use this book as a read-along book only, or as a read-along and sing-along book by purchasing the song.  Each of the seven verses is repeated twice to aid in helping your children memorize the days of creation.  The book asks the questions, “What happened on Day 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7?”  When your children see the numbered day in the book, they can try to answer the question before turning the page to see if they are correct!
